Look who's a gung-ho cowboy now....
The French defense minister has promised to use her country's nuclear weapons against any nation that attempts to attack the great people of France.
Just imagine the uproar Rumsfeld would cause if he announced one day that America would not hesitate to launch a pre-emptive nuclear strike against potential enemies, and suggested that "nuclear weapons are the ultimate protection against a threat from abroad". The Euroweasles would piss their pants!
France could defend EU in case of attack: minister
France could use its nuclear capability to defend its neighbours, French Defence Minister Michele Alliot-Marie said in an interview Monday, while also urging European Union states to increase military spending.
She said that rogue states "could one day point their missiles toward France and its neighbours. We could say to those countries: 'Watch out, if you try to carry out your threats we will destroy you before you know what's hit you.'" [Am I crazy, or are the French threatening pre-emption against rogue states?]
