Tennessee Taliban

Sunday, March 21, 2004
While constroversy rages over extralegal same-sex nuptuals in San Francisco, an appalling piece of state-sanctioned homophobia has managed to slip beneath the media radar.

In Rhea Country, Tennessee, local commissioners have asked state legislators to make homosexuality a criminal offense. That's right, they want to ban gays. FoxNews:

Tenn. County officials seek to banish gays

DAYTON, Tenn. -- Rhea County commissioners unanimously voted to ask state lawmakers to introduce legislation amending Tennessee's criminal code so the county can charge homosexuals with crimes against nature.

"We need to keep them out of here," said Commissioner J.C. Fugate, who introduced the motion.

County Attorney Gary Fritts also was asked by Fugate to find the best way to enact a local law banning homosexuals from living in Rhea County.

The Taliban is closer to home that we would like to think.

Mars Attacks

Has a UFO been spotted on Mars? The BBC reports:

UFO streaks through Martian sky

The US Spirit rover on Mars has seen a UFO streak across the Red Planet sky.

Astronomers say it could be the first meteor seen from the surface of another world, or a redundant orbiting spacecraft sent to Mars 30 years ago.

[...] If the UFO was not a shooting a star then it could have been one of seven out-of-commission spacecraft that still orbit Mars.

From the object's motion, scientists do not think it was the Russian probes Mars 2, Mars 3, Mars 5, or Phobos 2; or the American probes Mariner 9 or Viking 1.

That leaves Viking 2, which has a polar orbit that would fit with the north-south orientation of the streak.

Or maybe it was bin Laden skipping town.

Kerry Clarifies

"I actually did vote for his $87 billion, before I voted against it."

Weasel Scouts

Monday, March 15, 2004
The cowards of Europe are having an exceptionally good week. First, the pro-American Prime Minister in Spain, Jose Maria Aznar, was unseated by a socialist weasel who vowed to roll back relations with the U.S. and reorient his country towards Geezer Europe.

Now the French are courting a new potential axis member: China. According to the FT, France is holding joint naval exercises with the PLA off the coast of China. Sounds like a mating dance to me.

A Chinese official gave this candid explanation for the new cooperation:

"China wants to co-operate with traditional European powers, and France, as a stringent critic of the US, and a fervent advocate of lifting the arms embargo, was the country likely to take the initiative."

When Weasel-in-Chief Jacques Chirac talks up his bipolar strategic vision, it's not just a case of empty bravado. As these developments indicate, France is actively recruiting new countries into its Anglophobe brigade. America should recognize France's subversive intentions and oppose them with tact and unabashed resolve. After all, if we could face down the Bears for fifty years, surely we can take care of a few cheese-eating surrender monkeys.

7/10

The number of Iraqis who are happy and feel their life has improved since the removal of Saddam one year ago.

8/10. The proportion of Iraqis who want their country to stay united.

2/10. The proportion of Iraqis who want their country to adopt an Islamic government.

The Iraqis are sensible. That's good news.

1/10

That's how many British Muslims back terrorist strikes against the United States and the West.

Sorry, what was that about Muslim extremists being a teensy-weensy, itsy-bitsy minority?

U.S. Policy of Aggression against DPRK Flailed

Pyongyang, March 7 (KCNA) -- The 25th Congress of the Communist Party of Norway adopted a statement titled "The Communist Party of Norway Extends Solidarity to the Struggle of the Korean People" on February 22. The U.S. policy of aggression against the DPRK is rendering the situation of the Korean peninsula extremely strained and laying a stumbling block in the struggle of the Workers' Party of Korea and the Korean people for socialism, the statement said, and stressed:

The U.S. is seeking to justify its policy of aggression against the DPRK under the pretext of putting an end to "terrorism", but it is a real terrorist act that the U.S. wantonly scrapped the DPRK-U.S. Agreed Framework, resorting to the tactics of pressure and blockade.

Meanwhile, the leadership of the Communist Party of Norway discussed the matter of developing relations with the Workers' Party of Korea several times during and after the congress.

The party leadership expressed its will to increase support for the WPK in its struggle to defend the sovereignty of the country and socialism and achieve national reunification and, at the same time, to make all efforts to develop cooperative relations between the two parties.

Large Mosaic Mural Built at Ryongsong Machine Complex

Pyongyang, March 6 (KCNA) -- A large mosaic mural "The Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung arousing the workers to effect another great revolutionary surge" has been built at the Ryongsong Machine Complex. Represented in the mural, 13 metres wide and 12 metres high, is the image of tender-hearted President Kim Il Sung encouraging the workers to perform feats in a new struggle.

An unveiling ceremony of the mural was held on the spot.

John Kerry Speaks...

Bin Laden's Deputy Assails Bush

Osama is a Bad Father!

Maybe we should have empathy for bin Laden after all. In addition to being a mass-murdering fascist and terrorist ape, Osama is also a inadequate father - bruised and tormented by the misbehavior of his rascally kids.

An excerpt from the London Telegraph:

Osama bin Laden's children mocked their despotic and obsessive father, secretly drinking Coca Cola and requiring bribes to memorise the Koran.

This unprecedented picture of bin Laden as a frustrated family tyrant comes from a self-described al-Qa'eda "black sheep", Abdurahman Khadr.

[...] Abdurahman told the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation that bin Laden had "issues with his wife, and he has issues with his kids. You know, the kids aren't listening, the kids aren't doing this and that."

[...] Bin Laden liked to play volleyball with his children, and take them shooting. "If he missed his [shot], they'd laugh at him," said Zaynab.

Forget the war on terrorism. What we really need is a legion of therapists to help Osama with his profound insecurities about family life. To answer: why do they hate us? Bratty children.

Kerry's Constituency

Massachusetts liberal John Kerry has received a ringing endorsement from the French town of Saint-Briac sur Mer. Apparently, Kerry's campaign of arrogance and cowardice has won wide appeal among the townspeople.

In other news, Kerry has also gained the warm blessings of mad Marxist Kim Jong-il, who has made no secret of his visceral dislike for President Bush and his preference for a softer, kinder, more gentle Kerry Presidency. The FT reports:

"In the past few weeks, speeches by the Massachusetts senator have been broadcast on Radio Pyongyang and reported in glowing terms by the Korea Central News Agency (KCNA), the official mouthpiece of Mr Kim's communist regime.

Rather than dealing with President George W. Bush and hawkish officials in his administration, Pyongyang seems to hope victory for the Democratic candidate on November 2 would lead to a softening in US policy towards the country's nuclear weapons programme."

Wow, having accrued the votes of Frenchies and North Korean Stalinists, what could be next for Kerry? Perhaps baby-eating cannibals?

Flash Grenade

Want to see something bizarre and weirdly frightening? Then visit this terrorist flash presentation; put together, I presume, by some bored and internet-savvy terrorists.

The opening scene shows what appears to be an Arab back-alley with tracers streaking into the sky. Inside each room along the alley is another scene of ostensible Israeli abuse - made from what I guess are magazine cut-outs.

To put things in perspective, imagine if Hitler had a personal weblog. You see, this is the bewildering reality of 21st century warfare. Our enemies are employing every medium to spread their vile propaganda, including the Internet (invented by the US military, ironically).

That's why the Al-Hurra channel is so important. In case you haven't heard about it, basically it's an American-funded Arab news channel introduced as an alternative to the pro-jihadi agitprop of the Al-Jazeera network.

The idea of the channel is remiscent of the Cold War, when Voice of America was beaming free speech over Eastern European airwaves, emboldening rebels and fermenting dissent (and certainly irritating the Soviets).

Bottom line, the war on terror will be waged not just in the mountains of Afghanistan or the streets of Iraq, but also in Arab television sets.

Interference My Ass

Weasel-in-Chief Jacques Chirac is joining Egyptian Despot Hosni Mubarak in denouncing America's comprehensive plan for Mideast democracy.

Mr. Chirac sniffed that the plan, which includes funding for regional reform programs, amounted to "interference" in precious sovereign affairs.

Of course, the French had no qualms about "interfering" in Haiti, or Ivory Coast, or Congo, or Egypt, or Vietnam, or Algeria, or anywhere else where it suited their interests. Simply put, one of the world's most brazen colonial busy-bodies is presuming to lecture America about "interference".

Up yours, France! We don't care what you weasels think!
