Don't Bring a Samurai Sword to a Gunfight

A samurai-sword-weilding nutjob in Germany ran amok in a Protestant church, killing one and injuring three. When I heard about this story on the BBC, it ocurred to me that if this had happened in an American church, that guy would have been immediately gunned down, most likely with an assault weapon.
